Do You Like to Do it Inside, Outside or with Others?

What Kind of Gardener are You?

Each person has their own unique characteristics. There is a gardening style that will match your personality.

Inside Gardening

If you like working inside, an indoor is for you. An indoor garden is not necessarily a room in your home. Indoor gardening can be done in a greenhouse. You are able to cultivate plants that have different growing seasons or need special care. To do this, you have to have systems for heat, water, and air circulation to make sure the plants are healthy.

You can set aside a room in your home that gets plenty of sunlight to grow your vegetables. Living in an apartment or small house with very little yard is not an impediment to having a vegetable garden. Make sure the area doesn't get a lot of traffic so that the plants are not knocked about.

Vegetable GardeningOutside Gardening

This is the type of gardening you do when you want to breathe fresh air and take in natural sunlight. This is the most common gardening style. Planting flowers, trees, and shrubs around your property or planting a vegetable garden in space you have set aside. You can yield a harvest that will feed your immediate family and be able to share with other family members and friends.

Outdoor gardening can be a plot of land in the yard or it can be planter boxes on your balcony. As long as the area has a sufficient light source and it is easy to monitor your plants, you can have a garden.

Community Gardening

If you enjoy being involved in a group effort, you may want to consider community gardening. In some urban areas, members of the community come together to keep an area clean. They may simply keep the grass trimmed. Some cities allow neighborhoods to set aside empty areas for gardening. A certain area is allotted to the members of the community who want to participate. It can be a flower garden or a vegetable garden. In this type of setting, you not only get to reap the rewards of your garden but also the social aspects of being with others.

Whatever your style, you will not be disappointed if you dedicate your time to gardening.
